Our story

How we got here.

2018

Insurwave is founded

A joint venture between EY and Guardtime, with Maersk, Willis, MS Amlin and XL Catlin taking part.

2019

Re-platformed for the market

We move from blockchain to SaaS, the foundation everything since has been built on.

2020

Marine policy management goes live

Our marine solution launches, automating the flow of data between Maersk and the brokers and insurers who cover them.

2021

A new owner and a bigger ambition

Neil Eckert leads our exit from EY through IncubEx, bringing the investment and leadership to fuel the next stage of growth.

2022

Beyond marine, into the hardest problems

We add cargo, aviation and property, and help found the AsOne cargo war facility that kept grain flowing out of Ukraine.

2023

Submissions start reading themselves

We acquire Aperture from EY and launch end-to-end submission processing for specialty insurance.

2024

Real-time exposure monitoring

Multi-class capability brings many data sources together into a single cross-class view of risk.

2025

Market leader in aviation

We deliver our first end-to-end digital exposure and pricing transformation, using the full breadth of the platform.

2026

The platform relaunches
